Asian PolitiFact

Page history last edited by Espen Antonsen 12 years, 11 months ago

As everywhere politicians usually make a lot of promises that the people never see materialized. However with the lack of press freedom in many Asian countries, criticism of failed promises are often not known to the majority of the population and not properly questioned to the politicians. In the US the St. Petersburg Times have created PolitiFact.com which tracks politicans promises. Their Obamameter is a good example.

The PolitiFact.com is great, though it is currated by a newspaper which will not be a appriate in this region for reasons stated above. An Asian version must thus to a greater extend be open. How it should be ultimately adminstrated I am not sure but it should at least have the following features:

  • Create pages/list for political parties and individual politicians.
  • Possible to add sub-sections, such as SG-Election11 promises.
  • Be able to add promises to each list.
  • Each promise should have a score meter in regards to if it has been accomplished or not.
  • Each list should have a aggregated score card based on all promises on that list.
  • A list showing how politicians/parties compare to each other.
